Begun just after completing my previous album, Powehi, and finished while in the initial period of the Coronavirus quarantine, Rehlinger attempted to not let the situation unduly influence the music or titles. The working title for "Krankheit" had been "Contagion" for months before the outbreak, but that felt too on the nose so was altered to the German for "illness", dovetailing with the title of the title track "Datenautobahn" (information superhighway). If the album has a theme it would be retro-futurism, which he finds endlessly fascinating in all its prophetic and misconceived dreams.

While the first track of this fine HEAVY MOON release for all my moneys worth reminds me of the dark side of above mentioned celestial body, after that my main reference point would be Ashra's Blackout album or more general Berliner Schule with a healthy dose of electric guitar.
