Free noise? Aggressive ambient? Anarchist jazz? Smogma is a splinter cell of two different improvisation projects in Arizona, the dance theater-themed ambient/industrial drone quartet Butoh Sonics, and the spacey noise-jazz rock collective Claustronaut, while sounding like neither albeit still dedicated to the capture of sound art at the moment of conception from many devices and new inventions. Sound with moving wounds. Rorschach tests for the blind. Audio flotsam and jetsam. Aural sex.
